If after reading the following lines you still have some questions about the tournament, please feel free to contact me at: ultimatemexico@yahoo.com.mx

(please put “Acapulco Tournament” in the subject, so I can spot it promptly J

Hola Boys and Girls!  I hope all of you find yourselves in good health and ready for 10th edition of our Ultimate Fiesta in Pied de La Cuesta, Acapulco Tournament!

1.      PASSPORTS, I do not know if you do or don’t need a passport. PLEASE check with your airlines and/or travel agents. (Last I heard you needed one to get back into the US. I do not know if this applies to Canada or other countries)

2.      TRANSPORTATION. The airport you want to fly into is Acapulco. If you are arriving into Acapulco’s Airport on the 13th, when you arrive, carry a disc in your hand. This will identify you with other players so you can share the same Taxi/van!  . Purchase your Taxi tickets inside the airport. Its somewhere around 20-25 usd per person. Then it is about a 20 minute ride into Acapulco, you go to the other side of town (20 minutes) and then get into this curvy 2 lane road for about 20 more minutes until you get to the hotel. (1 hr total aprox)

3.      THE HOTEL´S NAME is PARADOR DEL SOL in the town of Pie de la Cuesta (On the far side of the air force base. The address is Carretera Pie de la Cuesta a Barra de Coyuca Km 5 (the phone # dialing from any phone in ACAPULCO is  (744) 444-4050.  (You will have to buy a phone card if needed J If you registered and made the initial payment deposit thru the webpage your name will be on the reservation list. (You should receive an e-mail confirmation to the e-mail address you registered with) Just in case, my home phone # is 011+(52-444) 841-5997  and my cell 011+ ( 52-1-) 444-165-8076

4.      Rooming assignment. If you want to room with someone in particular, jus send me and e-mail (copy the person you want to room with, and it will be taken care off. (Rooms are double occupancy, that means two persons per room, each one on its own bed.)

5.      If you are adventurous, you can fly into Mexico City and then take a 5 hour bus ride, you can probably save some $ But then you have to be coordinating between your bus schedule and your scheduled flights. (From the airport, take the METRO, the station is on the far side of the airport and it is about $0.20 usd per ticket. You want to go to the station called TAXQUEÑA (It is the one at the very south end of the blue line) The BUS station is there, then you will have to take a bus, about $40-45 usd and 5 hr ride to Acapulco, then a Taxi from the bus station to the Hotel (about 15-17 usd for the cab, NOT per person, so if there is 3 of you it is about $5 usd per person.) The bus is safe and it is a nice ride.

6.      When checking into the Hotel, you will need a credit card as in any other hotel. Your initial deposit will be applied to your bill and your balance charged to your credit card will be $230 usd. (You can pay you balance in cash at the hotel BUT you get a bad exchange rate. If you want to pay with cash (USD or CAN), that is OK just let me know so I can work something out, if possible and given the global mess I prefer if you couled pay ME in cash, I am planning on going to the US and everytime I exchange money I lose some because of the exchange rate) anyways go to point # 7

7.      The Hotel is all inclusive and uses  lots of Styrofoam cups, so if you are environment conscious bring your favorite water bottle for beers, margaritas, cokes  etc….and help   us save on the garbage (Plus it saves a lot of trips from the pool to the bar J.  Of  course bottled and packaged DRINKING  water will be available on the fields!

8.      We are in Mexico and it has happened on 2 occasions that someone’s bags didn’t make until later. I suggest you carry your cleats and bathing suit with you, on your carry on luggage. All the rest you can live without! J Remember to pack your sunscreen as well as good humor and energy to play hard, party harder and have tons of fun!! (Don’t forget your cleats!!)

9.      IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY that you fill out you players skill survey in our Webpage so that we can conform even teams. (I don’t know you so don’t worry I will going by the #’s.)

10.  SATURDAY night we go parting at a “decent” night club in Acapulco, THIS IS OPTIONAL and it runs about $35 usd (But let me tell you, you won’t regret joining us J. Guys, YOU WILL NEED slacks and shoes (Dress pants and decent shoes, NO tennis shoes No jeans) GIRLS mmmm girls look nice anyways J

11.  If you have any special requirements such as: babysitters, guests, vegetarian food, pets, doctors please let me know. This brings me to the insurance issue, you must provide you own insurance. We have had a couple of trips to the hospital, nothing serious, just letting you know.

12.  Last but not least, we run some clinics during the spring and summer, If you have 1 or 2 old used disc or that pair of cleats that didn’t fit you right and you would like to  donate for us to promote Ultimate in our country,  please bring them down with you!

I have been asked what to do after the tournament is over, don’t worry about that, I am sure you will find something to do. If you would like to stay at the hotel before or after the tournament please let me know to set it up. It is about $99 usd per person in double occupancy

Well ,I guess that is it for now, enjoy your family and friends, enjoy the upcoming Holiday season, think of how lucky we are of enjoying life this way, be grateful for what life has given you, whatever you religion, say a prayer for those in distress and PLEASE do not miss you plane!!!! J

BUEN VIAJE, HAVE A SAFE TRIP!!!

Saludos,

Fdo
